Wesley Gabrielsen was born in Salem, OR where he spent the entirety of his childhood. He played a variety of sports focusing mainly on soccer and later tennis. He attended Linfield College in Oregon where he competed in tennis for four years. After graduating in 2008, he continued to compete in competitive USTA tennis tournaments and leagues while working also coaching tennis at the high school and college level. He currently works as a high school history teacher.
Gabrielsen switched completely to full-time pickleball competition in 2013, racking up numerous appearances on the medal stand, including 6 USAPA National Championships won swinging his Magnum Graphite Stealth. He enjoys the simultaneous camaraderie and competitive nature of the sport the most. He really enjoys the traveling involved in the sport as well and meeting new players all across the country and in Canada.
In addition to pickleball, Wesley enjoys playing golf, soccer, tennis and basketball, and enjoys watching all sports on TV. He especially enjoys watching shows such as Seinfeld, CNN Tonight, any Green Bay Packers football game, and all major golf tournaments. His favorite food is tofu pad Thai, and his favorite pickleball venues to play at are in Bend, Oregon, Kelowna, British Columbia, and at the Villages in Florida.
